A Sri Lankan man suffered serious head injuries when he was attacked in Thornton Heath last week.

Police believe that the occupants of two cars were involved in the attack on the man in Furze Road at 12.10am last Wednesday (April 17).

He was taken to an undisclosed South London hospital where he is said to be in a critical but stable condition.

* Three men appeared in custody at the Old Bailey on Friday (April 19) charged with the attempted murder of a 19-year-old Croydon man. Prabu Santharatnam, a 20-year-old unemployed Mitcham man, Inther Raveendran, a 20-year-old unemployed Battersea man, and Sothilingam Santharatnam, a 22-year-old unemployed Mitcham man, all appeared charged with attacking Pranavan Rajanathan with an axe outside the Norfolk House Hotel on April 2. All three will appear at the Old Bailey on June 14.
